UPCOMING EVENTS

There’s always something happening in the movement to fight tobacco use in our communities. Tobacco Free RI hosts or participates in a number of great annual events. We also organize conferences, training sessions, and other events for those who want to get more involved. There are big international events like Kick Butts Day and World No Tobacco Day, too. July 28-31, 2017

Bryant University, North Smithfield, RI

Nationally, Youth to Youth is the recognized leader for engaging youth in positive change. Each summer, Youth to Youth offers tremendous leadership opportunities for high school students and the adults who work with them. Our one-of-a-kind conference experience, led by trained teens alongside adults, is the training that groups across the country count on annually to serve as a vital catalyst to initiate or improve their youth prevention programming.

Zombie Walk 2017 in Honor of Kick Butts Day and World No Tobacco Day

Zombie Walk 2017 in Honor of Kick Butts Day
and World No Tobacco Day

May 31, 2017, 3:30-7:30pm

Walk starts at the Providence Career & Technical Academy and ends at the RI Statehouse; After-party venue is pending at Dept of Administration Cafeteria on Capitol Hill.

Due to snow, the 4th annual Zombie Walk has been postponed to May 31, 2017. Rhode Island teens will gather and march across Downtown Providence in observance of National Kick Butts Day, an international day of youth action against Big Tobacco and World No Tobacco Day, an international day to draw attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and its negative health effects. Teens dressed as zombies will send a powerful message to the public about the dangers of youth tobacco use, how to best prevent kids and teens from using tobacco products, and how these winning strategies will save lives from preventable tobacco-related cancers and other illnesses.
